When in a school play, is it bad to...?

is it bad to seem like ure not interested when really ure just pondering how to be the character? evryone thinks that im not interested and think that im not singing bcz i don't think the play is good enuff to have me sing. (when really i lost my voice)
im not sure wat's going on but my friend hoo's managing the spotlight is talking about how i should focus more and im not sure if i rly should bcz i feel im doing well <=[
plz help me on this, THANK YOU! =]

Ask the director, that's his job. Remember school and school plays are not about winning the oscar, they are practice.

Don't worry about what they are saying. It is just a school play, not broadway!!!!! That is fine if you are just pondering how to be the character.

If you are not applying yourself at all that could lead to some problems. You have to apply yourself for the sake of the play. YOu don't want to ruin the play for everyone else because you didn't apply youself enough. it sounds like you are applying yourself though.

You should explain that you just lost your voice, and aren't conceited. It was probably just an honest mistake on their part. Don't take it too seriously. They might even be jealous of your voice and talent. Sometimes people can act mean and stuck up when they are really just jelous of you!!!! Maybe this is why.

If this doesn't work out, than you could always talk to the director. Remember she is in charge of the play. Talking to someone who you can trust and help will make things much better on your part. They can tell your school mate's to chill and stop worrying about your part. They might be so wrapped up in your part, THEY might not even be focusing on yours. They are probably all just jealous cuz you got a bigger part than them or something!!!!!!!
