pump is ok just wont pump take foot of put it back pumps works for a few

Need more info. What are you using to judge the waterpump output, if you are looking at the tattletale stream coming out of the back of the lower cowling there might be a piece of trash that is plugging the line. Is the motor overheating? What is the make and model of the motor?

did you put the dot of "adhesive" on the "Keyway" to hold it from slipping out of place ? Are the pump plates worn around the impeller ? If you just replaced the Impeller and NOT the whole housing, and plates, that is NO GOOD, you must replace the whole unit.

was the impeller you originally took out in one piece? if any pieces were missing you have to retrieve them or they will stop up a passage. also, just because the tell-tale isn't peeing doesn't mean the engine is not cooling. take the line loose and see if it's plugged. check the t-stat.

the outlet pipe is the problem it is plugged. check to see if the plate is scored up.replace if it is.
