why does the screen go black and white?

This game is filled with odd colors and or lack of. It is just a way of the game trying to be artsy but when the screen color changes it also signifies someone having momentum. If you scratch and make your song start playing the color changes. If the opponent scratches to their song it changes again. The black n white is just one of the color schemes they use. Also if you're not on a HDTV alot of the colors actually look kinda bad, but it's all natural and meant to be there.

I have never played that game. not yet! Maybe thats how the game its supposed to be, like a flashback or something.
