a gauge is basically the diameter of the long cylindrical piece of metal you put into the hole(s). They are measured from a little more than 20 to 00 by even numbers (20,18,16, etc.) The smaller the number the larger the gauge. For a bellybutton, a large gauge is probably a bad idea. Around 20-14 gauge would be a good size. Also know that after you pierce your belly button that you can only use that size and occasionally smaller ones, but I would reccomend against that. You should ask any jewlery store with bellybutton or piercing rings and they should be able to help you decide which one you want.

Gauge is simply the size you want your ring to be.. and for a belly ring i'm pretty sure the standard size is about 14-12 gauge...
hope that helps :D

Mine is a 14 gauge. The smaller the gauge number the bigger around it is. Like a 10 gauge would be thicker than a 14. Ask your piercer for details and what they carry in sizes.

gauge refers to the diameter of the jewelry (the thickness of it) most navel piercings are a 14g gauge.. then you need to figure out thwt length to get. but the standard is 14g.. the lower the number. the hicker it is.. it goes 20, 18, 16, 14... ect,...2g, 0g, 00g.. those would be the thickest
they ususally do piercings with a 14g. to avoid the cheese cutter effect.. which is when liek a wire cutting through chesse. well metal can do that to skin when the diameter of the jewelry is too small! ususlaly anything smaller than a 16g has a risk of the "cheese cutter effect" so a 20, 18, and a 16g makes you more prone to this complication.. this is why more piercings are done iwht 14 g.. ears are an excetiong.. they are usualy done 16 g.. sometimes..

I never heard that. I had mine done a couple years ago. You can't take it out for a whole month. They have different size belly rings, you can wear whatever you like. I have to wear all hip hugger jeans though. Otherwise the waist of your jeans would rub against the belly ring.

You need to go back to wherever you got the ring pierced and ask what size you should get. I know from experience, that the wrong sized ring can squeeze the piercing and delay the healing. Hope this helps!

gauge is how thick the piercing jewlery is. the smaller the number, the thicker the jewlery. i'd recommend 14 or 16 gauge for most piercings, i have 16 in all of mine.

Gauge (pronounced Gage) determines the thickness of the part of the piercing that goes through the skin.

the guage is how wide the jewelry is. like, how fat or skinny it is. most people start out with a 14 guage (for any piercing). the higher the guage, the skinnier the jewelry(i think the highest is 18) the lower the guage, the fatter it is (lowest is zero. this means you'll have a REALLY BIG hole)
