A hobbit is a fictional creature created by J.R.R. Tolken.

Although human in appearance, the are much shorter then humans (they rarely reach four feet) and have large hairy feet which usually go unshod.

For more information, read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings (trilogy), both by Tolken.

Hobbits are mythical creatures so there isn't a set definition for them... what they are depends on what story you are reading. They are usually shorter versions of humans with lots of hair. They are usually very hearty and stealthy. I've read a lot of stories with Hobbits, including the Lord of the RIngs and R.A. Salvatore's books... They are usually jovial and like to eat and drink lots. But like I said, they're not factual so you find many versions of them. Everyone will say something different, unless you are talking about hobbits from a specific story.

In the Denham Tracts, hobbits are referred to only as a "class of spirit". Critics point out that the Hobbits in Tolkien's writing were not spirits, but corporeal, mortal, small human-like creatures.

It's like a little person... shorter than an elf, taller than a dwarf.

They have big, hairy feet... don't wear shoes and live in a shire.
