No, you won't be able to get enough grip to do it that way.

The right tool for this is a large nut splitter, which is sort of a c-shaped piece of iron with a steel wedge that screws in one side. These are available in hardware stores. You tighten the wedge into the nut until it splits. Try it on your car. Try it on your BF.

Possibly, if it's a large pair of vise-grips, but not very likely.

Easiest way to get off a rounded lug nut is to use a slightly smaller socket and hammer it onto the lug nut, and use an impact gun to loosen it. The smaller socket being hammered on makes it bite into the metal a bit so it gives it a better chance of coming off. Never tried it without an impact, though.

Also, most tire shops have special lock nut removal tools to remove locking lug nuts, they also work on rounded lugs.

Take it to a tire dealer..... they will have the proper tools to remove the lug nut, and then replace it with a new one. You don't want to chew up the wheels with a vice grip, and it's too short to really get enough leverage to break it loose.

No, don't use a vise-grip, and don't try to do it yourself unless you are used to doing mechanical work on cars. You're likely to just cause damage to something, maybe yourself!

Take the car down to a garage and let them replace the lug for you. It won't take long or cost much.

It would be difficult; the torque on those nuts runs around 100 foot-pounds. Try a large pipe wrench.

i had to use a socket that was 2 sizes to small, a half inch driver with a 4 foot bar on the end and some one beating the driver head with a mallet while pulling, but hell it worked

It is possible, not easy, but possible. If not, they do have sockets made specificly to remove striped out nuts, may have to look around to find one the right size, but it should do the trick,

I don't think so.

Maybe you could strip his nut with a vice grip though.

I don't know. If you got a nice butt, I have a lawn chair, and I would love to see you try.

17! Only jail bait for a year or less. I still wanna watch. Give it up. You and your vice grips, and your dumbass boyfriend, and your dad aint gonna' get it off. Get someone who has the right tools to do it for you. Then you can go back to the IMOPRTANT things in life, like your Ipod and texting.
