ive been seraching and reasearching since febuary and i cant find the answers to this question its do tomorrow plz help i will apriceate it so muchh just want everyone to kno im not being lazy and just asking and not reasearching myself i am

Yes, they still live in the area (Naples, Sorrento, etc.). Very popular vacation area. Good restaurants ;-)

And there still isn't any realistic evacuation plan, as far as I know.

Of course, the city of Pompeii is an open air museum today. But people live nearby.

True it is an archealogical site, however, Mt. Vesuvius is not dormant or extinct. This volcano is very much alive and well. In fact, volcanologists have been keeping a close eye on Vesuvius for some time, and expect that when it erupts again, it could destroy Naples the same way it did Pompeii.

Why are you thinking about this stuff if no one lives there today? It's completely an archiological site today. The volcano Mt. Vesuvius is dorment/extinct anyway.
