I've been trying to dry it for 2 days, and put the battery back on several times to check it. I've tried to reset everything and it still comes up with "car kit" on the screen and you can't hear any sounds at all.

Im not sure I have a Nokia phone with Cingular connection and every so often I accidently get it wet or drop it and the sound also stops.

I turn my phone off and remove the chip to let it dry. Just like you do...Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. You should confront your phone company and ask if there is any way you can get a new chip or any help in fixing your problem.
