Not the pans I know how to clean them. But the burner that gets hot. I know ya unplug them from the stove. But I don't know if ya can put it in the dish washer or what kind of cleaner to use on them. Husband was cookin and stuff over flowed and got on the burner. Need to clean it because smokes when I try to but the burner on

That happens to me all the time. The way I clean the burners is I remove them and put them to soak in the sink full of warm to hot water with a good amount of dish soap, after I clean the stove I go to the sink and pull the burners out of the water and clean them with dish soap and a scrubber. Since they get pretty oily, dish soap works well for me. Hope this helps. I also use ajax from time to time, depends on how bad stuff has dried on.

I learned the following trick from my mother in law, after a spill she cleaned the drip pans and plugged the burners back in stains and all. Then she turned on her exhaust fan and put each soiled burner on high until they quite smoking. It seem to work like the concept of a self cleaning oven (get it very hot and the sides are only left with ash on them). I don't think I would put the electric element in water. What if not all of the water was gone when you tried to plug them back in?

Maytag to the rescue use s.o.s pad do just fine.
