Well I can tell you that there are the ups and downs. I have gone every year in May and stayed in Negril. If you are looking at going snorkeling there is a place called the Blue Cave Castle in Negril. Walking distance to some vendors and there is a man names Elvis that is quite shy and makes carvings all day. I buy from him every year and he is very reasonable. Usually pay him more that asked. It's right on the cliffs and has a cave that is open at the top and you can walk down into it or swim in it. I have been to several places and this is the only area that I've been to that you can go snorkeling unguided and feel safe. Owners are very nice and will pick you up from the airport for a small charge.
A few miles west there is the seven mile beach. I stayed at Country Country and has a restraunt that has very good food and drinks. I have found that most places have very week drinks. My mom and i kept a small bottle in our purse and would add a bit extra. We would drink Pina Coladas. All fresh juices usually squeezed or blended right in front of you. The beach has Margurettaville as well as inclusive resorts and very nice places to stay that aren't so expensive. Below are some websites that you may be interested in. I don't suggest going out in the dark by yourself, it can be scary. My mom and i went to several places after dark within walking distance and felt ok in numbers.
I am also sending an interactive map for the Negril area that will show you all the different bussiness' and lodging choices.

well, we are in the top 10 for the tourism., Bob Marley is from Jamaica, we listen to a lot of reggae and dancehall. There is a place called y e s falls, it has some of the most beautiful waterfalls its in Manchester, and hey if your wandering its not yes falls, say the words separately, a lot of people i tell this to always say yes falls, its sometimes hilarious. There was a massive earthquake in 1908 that sank part of Port Royal into the sea. There was a devastating hurricane called hurricane Gilbert in 1988 0r 1987 I'm not quite certain tho.

Very vibrant country with the top reggae artiste in the World. For example Bob Marley.
We have many tourist/resort areas namely Negril, Ocho Rios, that has Dunn;s River Falls, Margaritaville and a lot more attractions that could blow your mind, there is also Montego Bay where you can experience both the city life and the beach at te same time,...
In addition, there is also Portland and Kingston (the main city).
Here is a website that can give you a lot more specifics :)
Good Luck!!!

Dunn river falls in Ocho Rios is absolutely gorgeous. Columbus landed near there too. It is the homeland of Bob Marley, and the rastafarian religion. I was offered more weed on the streets of Montego Bay than I was at a Greatful Dead concert.
