Thank you for your answers, I ready do know how to do this job, I just need reminding how, like having a refresher coarse.

Are they electric, or air? Air brakes are quite easily changed. Electric are a little more time consuming, but not difficult at all. Make sure you get the right shoes, as there are several diffrent types depending on what type of service they are to be subjected to. Get the correct hardware kits as well. With air brakes you have 2 springs, 2 rollers (Some with clips), and sleeves for the housing with 2 pins for the shoes to rest on. Take a tire bar, pry up on the top shoe, and pop the roller out. Repeat for bottom shoe. The old shoes, and springs will fall off the spindle basicly. Replace pins, and sleeves on mounting assy. for shoes. Install springs on shoes FIRST, then place shoes on mounting pins. Pry them apart and intall rollers. Adjust s-cam and you're done! Electric brakes are simular to rear drum brakes on cars, except no emergency brake cable to deal with. If you're not confident about the job, take it to your nearest trailer shop, or dealer. Improperly installed, or adjusted brakes will get you, or someone else killed! Take care, and good luck!

It's really comforting to think a guy is going to put brakes on a heavy duty truck and needs to know if there is a web site to tell him how to do it. I'll be sure to be listening to the traffic reports for fatality accidents.

To be quite honest, if you are taking this on, and dont know what you are doing (hence asking for a website to describe it) I can only suggest you dont do this yourself, get someone who knows that job so they can show you, then from now on, you will know.
