What makes a hero?
Do you know of any heroes in your life?
Is this an obsolete concept, a thing of the past?
Or are there still heroes today? Who are some?

I like what the Rabbi in Shalom in the Home said...There are heros with a spot light...and those are the heroes at home. Don't you think you're a hero to someone...
If anything you're a hero for saving me from boredom

What if we rephrase your question and make it hero's instead of hero. How about the firemen of 9-11, or the young men and women in the U.S. military, or past vets who put their lives on the line or died for America. How about those people on that airline (9-11) who knew they where going to die but stopped those terrorist anyway? Yes there are hero's and no it is not a lost or obsolete concept. You do not need a name because there are so many to name.

The word HERO means a person who has gone above and beyond - way above. We're not just talking about a nice guy who helps an old lady carry her groceries.

It doesn't take much to make one a hero these days. I have watched lots of movies lately where you've got a deadbeat parent and a really sad kid, but at the end of the movie the mom or dad does one nice thing to the kid and suddenly everything is all better. The parent is a hero!

Or maybe you prefer fake thrills heroes like "triple x" Vin Diesel or sad blonde bimbos like Anna Nicole.

Millions of people believe the crazy murderer Bin Laden is a hero.

Sigh.....

My father is one of my heroes. For 40 plus years he has gotten up early every morning to go to work to make money to support our family. He makes little sacrifices every day so that we will be taken care of. He is faithful to my mother. He prays every day. He tries to be a better man every day.

It's hard work. And is done for love of God and for the glory of God.

That is a hero. Jesus Christ is a hero. The ultimate!

I personally think a hero is someone who helps other people. I think a friend who is always there for you is a hero. I think a person who helps the the poor and orther people is a hero.

My friends who are always there for me are my heros. My family are my heroes. I know they will catch me if i fall, they will help me get my feet back on the ground, and love me no matter what.

Its a strong question. Viv Richards ought to have rivalled Sachin Tendulkar for being the awesome participant if the 2000's and in view that of this. Richards had astounding means, his hand-eye co'ordinance replaced into the great ive ever considered, he had significant ability and timing and he ought to change a sport in an party. Flatter pitches- lately, pitches in try suits and ODI's are more advantageous outfitted to the batsmen, its no longer un-elementary to a try tournament pitch giving no help to the bowlers, or perhaps pitches that do help, are tame compared to yester-3 hundred and sixty 5 days. higher bats and larger powerful technologies- Tendulkar's bat is tremendous, his thick edges oftentimes flow over slips and his proper edges oftentimes flow over the boundary. Sir Viv didnt have that luxurious, surely with a higher bat he ought to have executed more advantageous. also batsmen lately get more advantageous safe practices, maximum batsmen lately are compulsive pullers and hookers because of helmets, Viv ought to have loved the safe practices field regulations and ability-performs- imagine Viv coming in the hollow overs of an ODI, and see the carnage evolve. He probable ought to were the 2d excellent cricketer of all time (behind Bradman)

There are no heroes, never were, never will be.

"Hero" is a bestowed title on someone for an action they took which others judge they would not do in the same circumstances. Does that make a person of action a hero or a fool, or does it make the judgers cowards?
