No he did not! It was a good way to portray the movie Amadeus. Mozart died of an illness in his bed. Salieri certainly did not do it, nor for that matter did he finish any of Mozart's compositions. That's good old Hollywood for you.

A few facts. Salieri wasTHE big composer in Vienna before WAM arrived there. Salieri was very jealous of Mozart's skill and the quickness with which he was able to write. Salieri was Italian and boosted openly of knowing a lot about poison. Salieri began"visiting" a certain restaurant that was a favorite of Mozart's. Mozart was in OK health just before he died. He was never robust but he was not in any condition that one would have thought him on death's door.
Finally, as an old man in an insane asylum, Salieri said he had poisoned Mozart. But since this was the confession of a madman no one took it seriously and the matter was not delved into.
Did Salieri kill Mozart? He had motive and opportunity. But in fact no one will ever know for sure.

absolutely not! Yes, the folks who made the movie Amadeus played it that way, but they weren't the first ones to come up with that urban legend, either. The Russian composer, Rimsky-Korsakoff wrote a short, one-act opera, titled Mozart and Salieri, that first put this idea onto the stage.
Yes, Salieri was intensely jealous of the younger, more celebrated Mozart ( and you think this doesn't happen today?) and yes he claimed to have done Mozart in, but no, he didn't.
Please look up an excellent Mozart biography, "1791, Mozart's last year", by H.C. Robbins Landon, as well as any other specialty biography on Mozart, rather than the sparse bit you might get from wikipedia. There are over 500 books listed at the big on-line bookstore ( no free advertising here!) to give you much more information on that astounding genius.
( Listen along with your reading- it really gives you much more understanding of his music)

OMG! You saw the movie, right? There a lot of Hollywood movies that have distorted certain aspects of history to the point where the G.P. (that's general public, not general practitioner) take the premise as truth. Do some research. I love the cinema but have learned never to trust it. They want box-office sales, that's all, and they'll use whatever angle it takes to get them. I've heard a lot of from the classical historians who dispute this as utter fabrication. But I didn't live back then. I don't know of anyone who knew Salieri or Mozart personally. Have fun exploring the unknown.

actualy he did not kill him as murder he wtill blame him self for beeing one of the resones that caused mozart death ....
because antonio salieri was composer older than mozart and he was the best at that time and the well known between composers at that time and he was close friend of the king at that time but the new age of music and smart touches that mozart add and compose start to resomble threat to salieri and blocked his way and his friend ship with the king
mozart had his fathers death to deal with at that time that he loved so much and he start drinking heavily and didnt write or compose nothing for while and because he used to write music in no time for any ocasion ...salieri find that is golden chance to destroy mozart career for good .... he bought the same mask and that mozart dads was useing in the fare and he came to mozart while he is wearing it and told him i want to pay you to write music for some one who died and his son didnt write nothing for him ? mozart to the money and mixed the day by the night to right music for his dad and he finished but week later they found him dead on the piano salieri read the piece and he was imazed and he had nurv break down he couldnt forgive him self ( he was one of the resones that caused mozart death)

This question originates from the Movie "Amadeus" It evolves from what hollywood calls "artistic license". Ideas portrayed as facts.......the term Post hoc ergo propter hoc comes to mind
