Excellent question! It depends on the recipe. There are SO many recipes for cheesecake. Some would put them in the pie categorie ... others the cake. I love it ... mmmm ... but it doesn't like me. Damn.

It's a pie, it it were cake it would be square, but it's not so therefore it's pie. Cheesepie just doesn't have the same ring to it, though!
