My son is 2 months old. I usually feed him Enfamil Lipil but it's getting really expensive (he's 17 lbs already!). I found that Sam's Club brand Member's Mark makes an infant formula comparable to Enfamil Lipil... has the same ingredients and everything- but is much more affordable. Would it be okay to change? I want to give him the best, but I also have a budget too...

The FDA regulates all formula in the USA and there are requirements about the ingrediants. THat way there are no formulas lacking in vital nutrients.

I made the same question with the target brand,i got a news, almosty all the private brand formulas ,like, walmart parents choice, members market, bright begings, albertsons, krugers, walgrens is made by PBM products, the only baby formula maker with iso 9000 plant, they even export baby formula. its a good formula haft the price. i have a 4 month baby, he finish a 25 oz can a week, i switch to target last week with no problems, yerterday i bought 2 more cans
, its the same stuff as ENFAMIL LIPIL , just alitle yellow not as white ,no pop poblems or gas , keep giving your baby members mark

It should be fine, just make sure it still has DHA and ARA in it. Otherwise it's the same exact stuff. Enfamil has to pay for the research to come up with the way the formula is made so it's expensive. Then Walmart and Sam's copy it for free...saves you money : )

if you want to keep using enfamil and it is just the cost of it to change. your local wic office is in the phone book and if it is liquid (concentrate) 13 oz. you will get vouchers for the formula and it will be 31 cans of formula a month free . even with the powder it will still be a supply for 31 days . depending on how much your baby eats later on you may have to buy few cans to make it to spend the next voucher but not usually more than 4 month because i did this myself. the wic program is a great thing to get into. also they give vouchers for infant cereal and juices for when he gets older . good luck .

I can't speak to the Member's Mark, but we use the Kirkland generic from Costco which is half the price of Enfamil and we've had no problems. I think you should give it a try, its all regulated by the FDA.

By my third kid I finally realized that all those named brands have the same ingredients as the store brands...so I learned to switch pretty quickly. It does get expensive and as long as your child is growing healthy and taking the formula like he should then it should be no problem to switch. Save some money and switch!
