It depends. A rookie in the NFL will make that in one game. So the question is what type of entry-level job to you mean.

Another thing to consider is where. For example Las Vegas is a great place for many entry-level service jobs which many times pay $40k.

Then again, what type of job do you want in five years? Maybe you start a little lower now to "earn your strips".

No matter the best place to see jobs or start a job search is http://www.johbs.com/ type in $40k in search.

Yes and some pay more... College education is pretty much mandatory for them now. Most analysts and trainees for entry level positions at large corporations are between 30-50k

Your best bet to make that kind of money with little or no experience is something in commission based sales. You will earn every penny you make but there is the opportunity to make good money. I made $12,000 in a summer selling alarm systems for ADT and recently went back to due some work for them. I made $1400 in two weeks. With commission it's all about how hard you are willing to work. Alarm Systems, Insurance, Cars, and Telecom sales are all decent options. Good luck with whatever you decide.
