Kim Yoon-Mi (born 1 December 1980) is a South Korean short track speed skater, who won gold medals in the 3000 m relay at the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics. She won her first Olympic gold medal at only thirteen years of age. She was the youngest person ever to win an olympic gold, and even younger than Tara Lapinski who won her first gold when she was 14 or 15.

The youngest female athlete to win a Winter Olympic gold medal was Kim-Yoon-Mi from South Korea who won the 3000m speed skating relay event in Lillehammer in 1994 aged 13 year and 83 days.

HOWEVER In an individual event, the youngest female medalist is Andrea Mitscherlich of the former East-Germany who won the 3000m speed skating in 1976 in Innsbruck aged 15 years and 68 days....

Please also note:
Norway's Hilde Pedersen became the oldest woman to win an Olympic Winter Games medal when she took bronze in the cross-country skiing 10-km classical event on Thursday. Pedersen is aged 41 years and 189 days.
