I may have a local India SIM card. Is there a cheap calling card I can use from India. Or any other options?

get yourself calling cards... you'll be given a toll free number/local to call and a pin number to access your prepaid account...
check out vsnl's card

or reliance

or if you're in an area which has hutch coverage, hutch has something called a wcc - world calling card - its about 5 rupees per minute to the US... i'm sure other cellular companies have a similar offer but hutch wcc is the only one i know of...

cheers..!

You can use MTNL phone card but it can be used by Landlines only not from mobile. This is the cheapest way. Or if you just want the sim card then it will be good for incoming calls not for outgoing as its expensive.. and if you need any travel related service pls visit " holidayclubindia.net "

if you have a local india SIM card then you can buy international minutes for your phone - no problem.
If you have your computer, you can use SKYPE and it's free if you're calling another person with SKYPE or it's about 1 cent (american) a minute to call to the US or UK, etc...
