All my shirts are black. And after wearing them for a while, they've developed hard, cakey white deodorant stains on the armpits of my shirts. It's absolutly disgusting and now I can't wear those shirts. So is there any way to get rid of the stains? (Please be descriptive because just telling me "use baking soda" or something similar doesn't tell me a whole lot. Am I supposed to put baking soda in with my clothes in the washing machine or am I supposed to soak my clothes with baking soda? uhhh.. I think my point has been made.) Muchos Gracias!

Try the gel deodorant. My hubby shirts were like that when he would use any solid, whether it be invisible solid or what ever. Don't have the hard cakey pits now that it is a clear gel. That will help prevent them in the future. You can try oxy clean. I have tried it and it worked on some. you wet the pit area a little bit, put some oxy clean powder on it, add a little more water and rub. let it soak for an hour or so and wash as usual.

I have had these stains before also. I tryed alot of different things. The way I found is that when you wash your shirts inside out and put oxy clean on the arm pit area and rub it in. let it soak , then wash. Some times when I am in a hurry I just make sure that I spray the arm pit area with spray in wash or some stain remover then wash. Oxy clean is the best.

STEP 1: Act as soon as possible to minimize chemical staining. Sponge white vinegar on the underarm stains to loosen the buildup of the deodorant's aluminum chloride or zinc salts, which discolor and weaken fabric over time.
STEP 2: Soak stubborn stains overnight in an enzyme-containing laundry detergent.
STEP 3: Launder with your usual detergent and color-safe bleach in the warmest water safe for your garment.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Mix baking sode with a little warm water and use as a pretreater. I know - those stains suck. But I found a way not to get them. I put my deodorant on about ten to fifteen minutes before I get dressed. And before I do, I just give the underarms a little pat or two with tissue. Gives the deodorant a chance to dry, and I haven't had those stains in years.

First of all change from using a deodorant to a clear anti perspirant. As for your clothes, before you wash them, turn them wrong side out so your detergent can get at the soil on the fabric. Arm and Hammer laundry soap works well in getting stains out and keeping clothes looking good. Use a little shampoo as a spot cleaner by rubbing it into the stain and wash as usual. Dry on medium to low heat, or hang to dry. The stains are probably set in from the heat of the dryer. I hope you're able to salvage them using this method.

Maybe soak them with mild detergent like Perwoll and put some lemon juice on the stained part.

Otherwise, why don't you buy a new set of shirts?

Have you considered trying OXYCLEAN? I would soak them overnight in a bucket or whatever you havein warm water. When I soak overnight I always let it rest in the bathtub and then just dump the water in bathtub and it goes down the drain.

For severe stains- I take an old tooth brush and mix oxyclean and spray and wash and then soak overnight.

My sister in law taught me this trick- she has little ones and we have not found anything this has not worked on yet.

Good Luck!

Antiperspirant stains: Go over the spots with liquid detergent and use warm water,If the stain is heavy, place the garment face down on paper towels and sponge the stain with dry cleaning solvent(You can buy it at the supermarket) . Rub with liquid detergent, rinse and launder in very hot water, only if the fabric can be washed in hot if not use warm.,

I would just presoak them in Woolite or Biz. Just put some detergent of choice in the bottom of a bucket, fill it with water, and soak the shirts for half a day or so before you wash them.
