I don't think either should be illegal.

However, I have never been high for 2 hours smoking a cigarette...

I will not have someone smoking pot on the clock that works for me (I have a small construction company).

Smoke out at home, fine. Smoke pot at work, you are fired.
Smoke cigarettes at work, fine, as long as you are working.

I watched my father die a slow painful death mainly due to 40 years of smoking. It ripped me apart to watch the strongest man I knew struggle to take a breath.

I watched many friends wander off the path of life into dark miserable lives with a cloud of pot smoke their only companion.

I personally wish I could destroy every pot plant and tobacco in the world.

However I know that my opinion should not dictate the law any more than Louis Farrakhan's rants about Jews should effect public policy.

Just because I am full of hate does not mean that others should be denied freewill.

I say make it all legal.

Let the people make up their own minds.

I certainly have.

If your smoking pot at work it is worse than cigarettes. If you are smoking at home and not under the the influence at all when at work I have no problem with pot.

Cigarettes are worse for your physical health. Pot is worse for your mental health.

Pot should be banned. Cigarettes will never be banned, governments make to much revenue from the taxes on them.

Some people are very functional and creative using pot. Others get messed up. With that said, the worst thing about pot is not "damage" to the users/society. The greatest costs from pot is the fact that it is illegal/enforcement of laws. This is another WAR that the US cannot win and is killing Innocent people. And most importantly - one that the good people of the US do not want.

I am not sure what you mean. Loose jobs because they smoke cigarettes?

I am totally anti-smoking, mainly because smokers force me and my children to inhale toxic fumes against our will. But, that does not effect their ability to work.

Pot, on the other hand, alters the thinking process as well as neurological response. They should be fired from any position where they could potentially hurt someone because they made the choice to alter their ability to think. Same with alcoholics. Would you want a surgeon cutting on you who was stoned? Your airline pilot? A court judge?

I only agree that smoking should be banned from public places, as those public places are no longer usable by non-smokers and smokers are ruining it for others willfully. I pay for arks, beaches, etc too, I should be able to use them without jeopordizing my health and the health of my children.

Well, looking back at my last job and my boss was a pot-head...yes a pot-head, I think I would have to choose cigarettes. He was a loser.

In all honesty neither should be illegal. But I wouldn't risk my job over a cigarette or pot.
