Which current NBA player will be champion in a one-on-one tournament?

So far, based on the answers submitted below, Kobe Bryant is the undisputed leader with 10 votes.

Dwane Wade is a distant second with three votes.

Le Bron and Kevin Garnett both have two votes.

Nonetheless, it looks like Kobe's the early favorite.

Oops, just got two more for Kobe. That make's 12 votes for Bryant.

Personally, my vote goes to Le Bron James. Kobe Bryant is nearly unstoppable in a full court game because of his speed.

We're talking about a one-on-one, half court game, where speed is almost secondary to power and strength.

Look, it'll come down to Kobe vs. Le Bron in the end. It'll be a battle; a very close game.

Ultimately, however, youth, brute strength, and healthier bones and muscle is going to rise above skill and experience. Thus, Le Bron James will defeat Bryant, and he shall finally be worthy of the name King.

To those who passionately say "Kobe," do you honestly believe that he could outplay and outlast every single player in the league? Do you really think he can lasts long without the triangle offense, without anybody to block for him, and take his passes?

Oh, he can fly over the likes of Nash, Marbury, Steve Francis, and Baron Davis.
He'll shoot over players like T-Mac, KG, A.I., Dirk Nowitzki, and Rasheed Wallace. He'll dribble around big men, like Shaq, Yao, and Dwight Howard.

Unfortunately, by the time he meets Le Bron in the final round, Kobe would be spent. His age will show, and his muscles, tendons, and bones will be aching.

Le Bron will take advantage of Kobe's one weakness: his age; and he will outpower, out hustle him like he did to all his opponents.

Kobe Bryant. Despite all the negatives toward him, he's a really good overall player. His past experience and statistics really show off how good of a player he is. However, with every advantage there is a weakness. Some other opponents skills can take advantage of that weakness to win the game, though.

KG is the winner. Please explain to me how Kobe or Lebron could stop KG on the offensive end. On the other hand, KG has the speed, height and power to stop both those players. For Lebron, he could leave him open on the outside, he's not that great of a shooter. He can keep up with Kobe in denying him an open shot. all KG has to do is post up and dunk on the competition.

I think it would be Kevin Garnett. He's a very versatile player for a guy his size. Given his size and strength, he could go up against the big men (power forwards and centers), while his speed, quickness, shooting and dribbling skills would enable him to match up well against guards and swingmen. A lot of people would surely go for guys like Kobe, Lebron, D-Wade, etc. for obvious reasons. But while these guys are amazing one-on-one players, I think they'd find a hard time matching up against the big boys of the league. You think these guys could stop Shaq if the Big Fella posts up and backs them down?

I love Kobe but I'm going with Lebron because of the size and strength advantage.

KG...he can stick with the big guys like Shaq, Duncan, and can handle the little ones like AI, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd...he's a great shooter on offense and is got a great low post game...with an unstoppobale turnaround fadeaway...he releases the shot at the top of his head and till this day that shot by him has not been blocked

it depends on how you position the players. obviously you wouldnt wanna put shaq against nash...although actually maybe we should....hmmm...

anyway i would have to say that although shooters like Pierce, T Mac, Kobe and Allen are gifted shooters, your gonna need a lot more then that to win a one on one style game. so to counter that, Lebron James would step it up.

his strength, power and size makes him very hard to defend int he low post. do you honestly think Ray Allen could defend him? or could Pierce, Tmac or Kobe get a shot off with a 6-8 player guarding their every move?

Lebron should win this with his size, strength and offensive skills.....
