I am 24 weeks and I am having the same problem. My doctor told me 2 weeks ago at my last appointment to take Benadryl to help me sleep, and so far so good. I follow the directions and it is really helping me alot, especially since I have 2 other kids at home. So I would go ahead and get it but it is always good to double check first, so I would suggest talking to the pharmacist and or a doctor. Good Luck and I hope I was able to help.

My Ob has told me that they reccomend to take it at night to sleep to women who are 30 weeks and above to help with sleeping on some nights. I am 23 weeks now and she told me it was alright to take if i just really needed a good nap.
I would not try to take it every night though. it is still a medication and you dont want to abuse it and something happen down the line. We just dont want it to become habit forming for the side effect that it has (good sleep)

After having two miscarriages in a row and questioning everything that I took and ate I wouldn't at this point take anything that there is any question of being safe during pregnancy. It isn't worth the risk, your baby is too important. Read a book or get on the computer until you get tired but try to stay away from any medication.

I dunno about the entire pregnancy, but I took it faithfully for weeks, because of a drug rash I'd gotten while on antibiotics. I was probably on it for my last 5 weeks of pregnancy, and in the hospital the entire time, so the doctors and nurses were giving them to me. sooo, until your doctor gets back and you can ask him, you can definitely take them every night until then, it won't do anything. but don't get dependent on them, it'll be impossible to wake up when your baby cries if you're still taking them, I know from experience. and sleepless nights are very common with pregnancy, it'll go right back to normal the night you have the baby. haha.

I didn't take it at all while pregnant. But, I think there's a warning on it not to take it for more than a certain number of days in a row.

i havent personally but my husbands cousin lives off of the stuff... and she is about 6-7 months into it. i take sudafed but thats just for allergies and not really a good thing to take if you want to sleep.
talk to doc. about it when he gets back but until then if youve been doing it then i dont see what the big issue is!
do what feels right!
