On the bottom is a open can by date. ON the back it states once openned use within a month. That is to ensure the nutrients are still effective. I would say use it by 6 weeks, companies always go towards smaller quantities so that you buy more of there product. Don't go over 2 months, though. That can be good on the baby's tummy

I'm pretty sure the Enfamil Lipil says use by one month after opening. The date on the bottom means it is safe to open and use before that date.

It's ok but I personally won't use it.

Ready to feed formula (including: Concentrated)
Closed cans - 6 month after expiration date
Open Cans - No more than 48 Hrs in the refrigerator.

Powder Cans
Closed Cans - 1 Year after Expiration (they last longer because they are vacuum sealed for freshness)
Open Cans - 4 to 6-weeks out in the open
8 to 10 weeks in the refrigerator.

With all things that have a shelf life, things do expire. With powdered formula there is a danger of the nutrients breaking down as it sits opened on the shelf. I called Similac for the same question about 6 months ago when my baby was on it! Good Luck!

Since it's milk based, I think it probably does really expire, but I"m sure it's fine after just a month.

Yes it does. And it also goes bad in the refrigerator. On another note..it causes moderate to severe constipation. So be sure to add plenty of plain water to the diet.
