besides the action and cgi, it sucks!

Oh whats so good about the movie? To start off with check out the bods man!!! and the rest of the issues come after that. What strike me as the most appealing is the role of a woman at that period of time. I was quite amazed that women at that period was highly regarded and a woman's words count. That part where King Leonidas has to turn around and look at his wife, the Queen for an approval before deciding to pushing down the Persian messenger for insulting him and his woman. it counts for something doesn't it. And how the Queen managed to make sense when he told the king what the oracle say or believe is nothing compared to what he feels is right.
Besides that there were lots of other issues that were being addressed in that movie. I love he battle formation and the meaning of freedom- that is not to have the riches of the world by bowing down to one God but having the power freewill. And the best of all, doing an act of bravery and asking the bare minimum in exchange for lost of lives- just to be remembered.
The cinematography was amazing. The colours were striking and how the battle was put in a slow motion- brilliant.

I thought it was a good and fun action movie and the fact that it was based on historical events adds credibility to it -despite how outrageous some characters were. So many crappy and boring movies have saturated the movies lately that this movie maybe put some life back into film. Unlikely though.

I love to read negative comments/reviews about this movie. It just means not everyone has the same taste in movies.
everyone has their own opinions. some will like it....some will not like it..
if you dont like it , then we just dont have the same interest in movies.
It made tons of cash, and so did Titanic...both demographics are pretty extreme (spartans=dudes di'caprio=the ladies)...so just chill with the "it sucks" remark..
appreciate what went into the film.. not just your negative feelings...

mostly the fact for me was that it's actually true. type in the man character's name and you'll see how close the movie got to the truth
