I live in the Northeast Florida area and would like to start growing some grapes. I heard you have to get male and female and what are the best kind ?

Lowe's or Home Depot will have vines. Re: sex, not an issue as the only grapes you can easily grow are muscadines. They self-polinate. There are red and white varieties. Carlos is red and I'm not sure the names of the white ones. These are ok as table grapes, but better for juice or wine.

Most garden centers sell grape vines or if you want a special variety, one someone you know has, you can get a cutting and root it yourself. Use Root Tone, A vitamin E which will aid in rooting.

I am in California, but on occasion, I have seen them at Home Depot.
