Flyboys have it good, brother. No such thing as barracks in the USAF...those boys have DORMS...like college boys. Must be nice.
I wish during my 8 years in the Army, they would have sent me somewhere that it rained...Except for a few weeks in Alabama...I was always in some God-forsaken desert, sleeping in the buckets of bulldozers - that we had to hotwire to get the buckets off of the ground - to avoid the snakes and scorpians.
Air Force has it comfy.
You are right about the rangers. Those boys like it - the harder the better! We hosted them at JRTC several times....they must have left their minds at home when they enlisted! Else just plain lost them..

I help to train the Air Force Security Police on how to handle Civil Disturbance/ Riots . Back in about 1983 . To say that they were 'soft' is too achieve the biggest Over-estimation known to mankind .
I typed the rest of the story, but had second thoughts about publishing it . Anyways, suffice it to say, they got a real as$ whippin that week !!!
But they were all great guys and the Air Force Chow Halls were much better than the Army's !!!

I was in the USAF for 8 years!
I gotta tell we, the USAF accepts only the best....and we had it better than the others.
