McMahon owns the WWE but also bought ECW and WCW and all the rights to both organizations and put WCW on the shelf. ECW is around now because there was a HUGE demand for it and WWE brought it back.

RAW, Smackdown, and ECW are WWE products and wrestlers appearing on them work for WWE, not separate organizations.
