My youngest boy 16yo lift's wieght's, to build himself up for football. He was caught useing stimulant's. What do i say to him to warn him about the dangers of useing?
Ps, he lives with his mom out of state and i won't see him till summer vacation. But we do chat back and forth and i don't want to loose comunication with him.

Be sure not to come down on him but rather tell him you're concerned about his health and well being. Tell him stimulants can affect his heart, they can even kill. Find out everything you can about them and pass it on but in a way that shows how worried you are about him. He wants your approval and he needs to hear you care. That gets across much better than preaching or arguing.
I hope he's only using stimulants and not steroids. If he's using steroids he's in much worse trouble. Since people see the results they want from them they think they're fantastic but they wreak havoc on your body and mind and also can kill you. They cause unprovoked rages and cause people to become violent. If you suspect he's using steroids PLEASE let his Mom know as she may be at risk. Steroids are very scary!

That is a shame that your son's main role model is living out of state - obviously he needs you! You need to get involved right away, call the mother, have a phone conference or have you thought about flying there? I'll never understand how a parent can be so detached from their kids? I'm sure you have a long list of excuses & it's all the mom's fault, but whatever! That boy needs his dad and you need to get into gear now, not wait until summer vacation to be a disneyland dad. yes, the truth hurts!!
