I have always heard the terms "unity and singularity" to refer to the Blessed Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost - in that they are united in a Trinity but distinct and separate persons. Thus you have both unity and singularity.

Unity's bonds are that of the limits of singularity. That is, a union can not be union beyond its singularity without it requiring redefining singularity. A singularity which we call appendages for example, if considered beyond this union of all like objects, arms legs etc of all species, is defined by a different standard, and is therefore of a differing singularity, e.g. all bodies - which is less specific, but more comprehensive.

Thus the more inclusive the union, the less limited, and specific, the singularity. An unlimited singularity is the limit of unlimited union(s), and this is why it is said there is one unknowable God, or Essence, and not multiplicity of gods or essences.

The highest knowable singularity is that of union of all human potential, discovered and undiscovered together. Discovered is our comprehension, the undiscovered is our potential progress. Everything which has opposites, by their very differences, are of two lesser unions, and the comprehension of both, without the limits of either, is the rewarding greater union.

God bless.

Unity is a state of being "one" regardless of how many parts there are to the whole. Singularity is just one thing and is unique for what it is as an individual entity.
