Social Gap between rich and poor is a problem in Mexico yes? A country like the Untied State not really because an American citizien doesnt spend half thier income on food, water like a poor Mexican does. The rich and poor Gap depends if thier absolute or relative poverty. After income go over $20,000 the poverty level is subsizieded. I think about the gaps income, but also think gaps in education, and housing is more important than if Joe Blow makes 200 times more than me or you. Its Materalism vs Soical Well being with the income gap. Does making $400,000 makes you 20 times happier than having $20,000 a year. The person making $400,000 could still be unhappy sucidial, and the other making $20,000 be happy and content with thier life. Media blows things out of proportion about income disparties, and social stability comes from values not income so much.

First I think the concern about it is the result of a mountain being made out of a mole hill. The fact is the gap is not growing and hasn't changed in decades. What has changed is the way the gap is measured. Which makes it appear that those reporting the gap are doing so to advance an agenda.

The presumption seems to be that there is a gap and government action is required to close the gap. Bottom line is taking from one citizen to give to another undermines the rule of law and converts a limited government into an arbitrary unlimited one. Where the violent force of government can be brought to bear to accomplish arbitary goals.

The social gap is increasing in part because an increasing fraction of the population is living in suburbs where people of different income levels are separated into different neighborhoods due to housing prices. In small towns and cities it is natural to have some social interaction with people who are both much richer and much poorer than you. It seem to me that the scorn expressed toward the rich as greedy and the poor as shiftless arises from the fact that most average people don't actually know anybody who is either rich or poor.
