If so, what really happens during one of these live tapings and how approachable is the host?

My family actually tried out for Family Fued in the mid 70s, but I guess we didn't jump up and down enough to make it to the next phase.

My father was on Hollywood Squares in the early 70s. He was on for 3 shows (I think) but Paul Lynd (center sqaure for years) gave one answer, my dad agreed and the show said if was false. My mom looked it up later and my dad and Paul were right, so dad went back for another 2 shows.

The host at that time was ?? Peter something??? I can't remember, but he came out and shook all of our hands before the tapings. We didn't get to talk to any stars. :(

We were scheduled to be on the first episode of "Wheel of Knives" but they cut us out.
