Iv worked in a lot of restaurants and my experiences have been, if its a family owned restaurant or fine dining restaurant they will not charge you. All others, probably will.

Stealing is bad karma. Go back to the restuarant and tell the manager that you forgot to sign the credit card receipt. He or She will tell you that's OK they billed you anyway but at least you will have done the right thing and can pat yourself on the back instead of being a crook.

If you gave them the card to swipe, it was swiped and charged .
Many places no longer require signatures on C C -

Yes, of course they are going to charge you. However, being a convienence store owner myself...You could dispute the charge, say somone lost your credit card and it wasn't you and the would have to refund your money back. They would have no way to prove it was you unless they had a camera in the restaurant.

I would not recommend doing this of course, it is illegal!!

The signature is only for the store owner to decide if it really is your card or not (by comparing the signature) So the signature isn't really necessary

Yes they will, you have to pay for your meal you ate. But your server doesn't get a tip on your meal and they have to pay taxes on what your meal costs, so if your a nice guy, you could go back and make his or her day and leave a tip, no one likes to be stiffed, even if it was an accident.

Yup! And the chance they'd let you out the door without noticing is a slim chance in hell.

Yes, they will. Sometimes they will sign it for you using their signature and stating you did not sign.
