What does the music industry need?

The music industry needs to have a reshift in philosophy regarding promotion and distribution. There are so many great artists out there nowadays, but unfortunetely only those of us who DON'T listen to the radio know about them.

Right now it takes a little bit of searching or a point in the right direction to find amazing music. Radio overplay is killing American listeners' brain cells and making them think that those are the best bands.

The industry needs to utilize new Internet technologies and first of all allow us more access to all music. Secondly, they need to use the same technology for consumer feedback to discover who we really like and not who they TELL us to like. And finally, they need to stop paying radio to repeatedly play those crappy songs (hopefully the Clear Channel lawsuit will fix that).

The industry needs good composers and artists devoted to their craft and to their values. We need more inspiration for more enlightened music because music is a powerful tool for the transformation of society. If we had good musicians who can communicate deeper and nobler values, maybe the world will be a better place. The dark side and its forces are producing many useless or outright destructive forms of communications that destroy values instead of building them. Society is bombarded on all sides with trashy messages, materialistic values which do not help make people any better. We need inspired artists who can contaminate society with their noble sentiments. We need them to inspire people to greater heights. We need beautiful melodies to inspire us to work hard to build a better world for future generations. We need artists to inspire us to become heroic in our efforts to help each other grow into more humane citizens of heaven. We need better melodies and better lyricists and better upliftment of the spirits. Some have already tried but their tribe has to increase. The good musicians should band together and teach the others to promote more wholesome and more beautiful values. I guess inspiration comes form above so mucisians can become more effective if they get their inspiration from above. They should devote time to their spirituality so that they can produce greater works of art that can truly inspire the majority of people. There are some works that are effective but only a few really do the job. I hope good mucisians increase in number.
