I just saw a clip from American Idol with guest star Diana Ross. Was she drunk or what? She sang horrible! Sanjaya Malakar who is taking hit every time was better! What do you think?

Here's the deal about Diana Ross' singing. She can't sing a lick anymore! She was sharp almost the whole performance on American Idol and her voice faded badly in spots. And you know she had to have been practicing with the band prior to her performance and had all of the technical support she needed to prevent this type of horrendous performance. I have heard her sing before live on TV and she was almost as bad. She sang the National Anthem or some type of song like this before a major sporting event. I also heard her sing a song from her latest Album on the Tonight Show and she was pretty bad again but not as bad as on Idol. I also heard her sing live with the Supremes in the sixties and it too was dreadful but in this live performance, part of the problem could have been bad acoustics. But the acoustics wouldn't have accounted for how skanky they looked and an otherwise unspired performance. About the only way one will hear her sing in tune now is on a recording where all of her pitchiness can be corrected by recording technicians.

She does have a history of alcohol abuse and I think she had a few too many before she came on stage.
When she first stepped out onto the stage and had her legs crossed in front of her, she could barely stand up on them. Plus, she sang off key quite a bit. Not the typical Diana.

I never thought she was a good singer. This time she seemed even worse though. Maybe she was drunk, but maybe that's just how she is. American Idol is supposed to help ur career, but I think it just hurt it.
