There are festivals and other things to do all year, and the culture is very rich. The public education is pretty bad. We have three kids and decided that as much as we love New Orleans, it is not a good place to raise kids. We moved to the Wichita Kansas area, which has great schools and a pretty good job market, but at your age I think you would likely be bored out of your mind here.
