I think the motor for my heater/air conditioner is broken. For a few days it would come on then stop, then come on again. I didn't drive me car for about a week then when I did the blower was not working completely.
I don't know if the motor itself isn't working, or if there is a lose wire, blown fuse, etc…I don't know much about cars so what are the possibilities it could just be the motor, and how much will it cost to get it fixed if it is. My car is a 2000 Alero, I have had it for four years and I have never had any problems with the heater, so I wondering if when a car gets old if it can just stop working. I am more worried about labor, then the price of a new motor, so any info you have would be great.
If it makes any difference, and again I know nothing about cars, when I let it run in the morning it warms up, I don't know if it's just the heat of the engine or what. Thanks!

i own a repair shop and the motors will burn out,and its a good possibility that it did just go out on it some last a life time and some only a few years, you can have a shop check it to see if its bad,it also have a blower motor resistor that could have went out on it this is what helps control the voltage for the motor, and when they go out it wont work at all either, but id have it checked to be sure, good luck i hope this helps.

If it only works on the highest speed setting then you need to replace the Blower Motor Resistor.

If it doesn't work at any setting then the problem is either the Blower Motor Switch or the Blower Motor itself. You'll need to have those checked to see which it is.

probably a loose wire the best way to diagnose is to turn on the blower locate the wires that go to it and wiggle them to see if it acts up again

it could be just the switch,or a blown fuse.
