I used a home pregnancy test yesterday in the morning, it's a stick test that can test 7- 10 days after conceiving Ive come off the pill and think it's been 21/2-3weeks since my last period (its easier to keep track when you're on the pill!) it had a thin, faint but definate line where it indicated where it should be if it was to read positive. I carried out the test correctly. I did a test at the doctors today and a neg. line came up. I should have demanded a blood test. I'm starting to think the pos. was a false result. I know I should wait a bit longer and take another test in a few days but if this was you would you lean more toward a false result or maybe to early to tell and could be pregnant? By the way, I am trying for a baby. I'm not really stressed about it but I just want to know what's going on.

First suggestion. When you go off the pill, you should wait 1 normal monthly cycle before you try to get pregnant. It will give all of the hormones time to calm down.
Once you get your first natural period, give it a try.
Second? If you are 3 weeks since your last period, you are testing TOO EARLY. You should test once your period is late.
Wait another 7-10 days, and re-test.

There are very few false POSITIVES, it's much more common to get a false negative on a test. Like you said, it's best to wait a few days and try again. The first time I was pregnant the line was soooo faint the first test that I wasn't even sure if it was there...the second was alot more conclusive. Good luck!

I'm for sure not a medical pro but I say trust your doctor although he very well could be wrong. If you still want to you could wait to take another home test, or go and have a blood test done.

Usually if theres any hint of a line its positive. You should of asked for blood tests. I think it might be correct since you had the test that tests early. wait another couple of days and test again. good luck.

they should do a blood test I was pregnant and took a urine test at the doctors office and it barley showed up that I was pregnant and my home test did the same thing as yours I later lost the baby because I didn't have enough hormones in my body I had only been of the pill for 2 months

The more you worry the less likely you will get pregnant.
You need to be off the pill a few months be for you will get pregnant .The doctors said I was not pregnant for two of my children they are better at like 3 months .

I would wait a bit longer...my friend was feeling sick so she took a pregnancy test and it was negative...then she went to the doctor and he tested her...it was also negative. She continued to have a period for the first three months before she took another test and it was positive.

yes it is possible for the doctors urine test to be wrong. it happened to me! i took 6 different HPTs all came out positive and the doctors test came out negitive. i didn't find out i was pregnant until i was about 3 months! there was not enough HCG in my system to get a positive test result.

I would trust the doctors before the pharmacy bought but you can always try again by doing a blood test.
