also, what should i do about brown ends? can i just snip them off?

moreover its always to much water or to little space. thats your call, sniping will not help the brown.
I'd put it in a well lighted room without direct sunlite for a long period of time.

Palms need a hot and moist environment (higher in humidity). Also that dying of ends are cause by salt accumulations in the tips of the leaves. You can cut the brown tips but they'll keep coming. What I did was leave it that way it's part of the beauty. I only take it out when it's all the way to the base of the leave.

your palm should be in good light,but not sunshine,and yes you can snip the edges
