From fossils we can learn:
1. What organisms lived during the same time periods.
2. How species have changed over time.
3. What conditions occurred on Earth at the same time as the organisms lived (massive fires, floods, earthquakes, ...)
4. Societal information - did the parents stay with the babies? Did they feed in groups?

We can learn about the plants/animals that lived there. We can also learn how old the fossils, showing when that kind of plant/animal lived in time. We can also learn how they grow, what they ate, or tons of other stuff!!
