Go and see your Doctor, there are lots of reasons why women stop getting periods. Hormone imbalances, weight-loss or weight-gain, excessive exercise, and of course pregnancy.
When I started my periods (19 years ago) they would come every 2 months or so until I went on the pill, but since I came off the pill, 8 years ago, the latest I've ever been was 10 days late.
The best advice that anyone could give would be for you to go and see your Doctor, especially if you're on the pill, they (after all) are the experts and they can reassure you much more than we can.
Wishing you lots of luck! :o)
I just wanted to add a comment because of something that someone posted. Being overweight *does not* cause poly-cystic-ovarian-syndrome (PCOS), but PCOS can cause weight gain because PCOS often is linked with insulin resistance, where the lady's body produces insulin, but it does not trigger the signal for the body to absorb glucose.
I just wanted to add that info, as I know quite a bit about PCOS there's some info here to back up what I've said http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycystic_ovarian_syndrome

Hmm. Some things to ask yourself:
1 - What is a really long time? Days and months make a difference. Has it been a year? A couple of months?
2 - Have you started taking any other medications that could alter your hormones?
3 - Do you play rigorous sports or are you highly athletic?
4 - Did you begin your cycle at an early age?
As you may already know women who build a high amount of muscle mass (track runners, cyclists, gymnasts, etc.) tend to alter their menstrual cycles. One the other hand, women who are extremely overweight tend to get poly-cystic ovary syndrome where a cluster of cysts appear on the ovaries, interrupting their cycle as well.
High amounts of mental stress can also contribute to missed periods and a bunch of other problems.
You may want to go to your doctor to have your thyroid checked out as well as it has an effect on your period as well.

You may want to think about a home pregnancy test. That is all I can tell you... I need more information then what you have given to give you a suggestion other then pregnancy. If you are pregnant then yes this will affect you and your lifestyle!
Try adding some details...like any pain? Spotting? when was your last period? are you on any birthcontrol? Any weird discharge or odor?

This happens when your eggs ovulate at a slow pace and slows down the menstruation process. My GYN calls it "slow runners". This can be corrected w/ simple hormone therapy with a pill prescribed by your GYN. If you're under a lot of stress, extensive exercise/sports or change in diet that may be another reason.

Prolong period happens in teenages and those with unbalanced hormones.
If ya under stress, its a probablity that your period will be delayed.
Usually its a bad thing when ya a full fledged woman, but if ya a teenage gal, its considered normal.
Go for a check up, get preg test kits.
Good luck.

Dear, go to see a doctor. Their profession will tell you what's going wrong in ur body. Please don't feel hesitate to do so because no one will know what's going to be happen tomorrow. If you know earlier, you will have a better chance to deal with it.
