We are on a well and have somewhat hard water. I have a 65 gallon fish tank. There are a couple of places where water got splashed over the top. This of course left a long, white, hard water, drip stain clear down the side of the tank. I have tried vinager, lemon juice, clr, scrubbing really hard, etc... Any other suggestions for how to get these stains off?

Hi there. There are many ways to get rid of this stain. I think it would be helpful, if the area was soaking in a product like vinegar or CLR. That is the tricky part. I would saturate an old kitchen towel with either product and drape it on the stain for a few hours. Hold it in place with a clamp or even a rock situated on top of the aquarium. Beware that the Magic Eraser is just a dense piece of foam that usually falls apart with a single use. I was so disappointed. Guard your floor with any drips. The stain should come out with some scrubbing. Have a nice spring.

I always use a product called Rust Stain Remover its by whink. It comes in a small brown plastic squirt bottle that runs about 4-5 bucks. Squirt a little on a sponge and try wiping it. Use rubber gloves and DON"T let it get near the water in the tank. Its very strong stuff but its almost like magic the way it takes rust off. I have hard water too and no water softener so all of my porcelain has to be cleaned every few days and this stuff is the bomb!! Using it on a fish tank I think I would use a glass cleaner after or a least rinse it off to be extra safe.

CLR or Lime Away if you keep fish in you may want to go to fish store they have the same stuff but safe for fish tanks. P S I think CLR is the very same stuff!

We have VERY hard water where we live and white clothes are often discolored/stained due to the water. Our city water department gives us this stuff called "Red B Gone"...I've used it in my tubs, toilets and showers to get rid of mineral deposits.

KABOOM works really well I have found, as well as METHOD (can get at Target) tile and bathtub spray. The Method has a much more pleasant smell than Kaboom. I like them both though!
