Both my parents are English. My father used to say, "You can always tell an Englishman, but you can't tell him much." LMAO The English are civil, subdued, subtle and prone to understatement. This comes from living in an open democracy on an island for 700 years. On the other hand, they have a history of being sharp businesspeople. It's how they conquered the world, built the slave trade, formed the foundation of piracy, and enslaved the Chinese through opiate addiction. At one point, they controlled Hong Kong, Singapore, much of China, most of India, all of Egypt, plus the Suez, The Dardanelles and Gibraltar (the only three sea lanes into the Mediterranean). Oh, yeah. One other thing. The food they eat is bloody horrible. Next time you're over there, order what they call "the great English breakfast." ;-)

being half British and living 2 years in London, I have found with at least the English anyway, there is no in between on anything. They either like you or hate you. They don't "kinda" like Americans, etc...

Well I think the stereotypical British person is buck toothed, dreary eyed, stuck-up, dun skinned, dressed like 1950's, bad breathed, boring, and out of shape...but I know that is not true...that's just how they are sometimes portrayed on tv and in movies.

Don't have one. I've never really had any British friends. Not many around my neck of the woods. I do love their accents though.

the accents are a definite plus.
also props to those who defy the conception that Brits have bad teeth.
If all British men were as handsome as Jude Law I'd probably move to the UK.

The poms are tops. Rather fond of Freddie Flintoff. Still, I loved seeing them lose (read: thrashed)at the Ashes.
(Yes, I realise no one but Aussies and the English will understand that)
