I know it's an exciting time - and a nerve wracking one too!
There will be 1,000 moments where you'll be wondering how the baby is doing - and a heart monitor would ease your mind considerbaly.
But...unfortunately, these things don't work - honestly, you will only hear the sounds of your own digestion.
Save your money and buy more onsies with it!
Congratulations on your baby!

Heart monitors like the bebe sounds can't be used until you're at least 21 weeks and even then they're pretty horrible. I just tried one now that I'm 23 weeks and you can't make anything out. Rent a doppler instead. You should be able to hear the hb with a doppler somewhere between 9-14 weeks. I heard my baby's hb at 9w5d and it's been a great reassurance to me after a miscarriage. I recommend baby beats.

I bought my monitor when I was 21 weeks. I have tried so hard to hear the heartbeat. I am now 11 days away from having a c-section and I still can't hear my babies heartbeat with it. I have sat in a quite room for over 3 hours straight trying to find it. They say you have to be very patient. I was and it didn't pay off. You can hear if the baby kicks and the fluids in your stomach though. My son enjoyed listening to my heart beat so I guess since it made him happy it was worth it.

I actually have one and that i'm no longer inspired with it. in spite of the undeniable fact that, i'm in undemanding words 20 weeks and it even says on the instructions that you won't be able to listen some thing with it until eventually the eighth month. i'm basically satisfied that a buddy of mine gave it to me and that i did not waste any money. The buddy who gave it to me suggested she might want to listen the newborn's heartbeat in the route of the accurate of her being pregnant, or maybe then she couldn't listen it every time she used it. i imagine that's only a glorified stethoscope.

It is a waste of money. I had one with my second pregnancy & found it a total waste. I couldn't hear anything through out the entire pregnancy except static, my own belly sounds and my own heart beat. They aren't worth the money.

I had one of those and it was worthless (I bought mine brand new). I could hear my stomach sounds, and if the baby kicked the microphone, but I never heard the baby's heartbeat with it.
