supposedly i am under investigation for stealing from the store I work at... and I have not yet been interrogated by loss prevention... and its been almost 2 months.. but recently i heard that I am going to be spoken to... I didnt steal nor was i involved with the persons that did... but Im guessing by procedure I have to be questioned and harassed. but by law can they call me a liar even if they dont believe me?... because i know that they are going to harass me... and be mean and say that I stole when i didnt. Because i will end up getting an attitude really quick if im called a liar... by law can they do that? also Im not being scheduled... hardly at all... and when I have call ins... and I call in they dont use them....but when someone else calls in... they tell them to come in! is that legal as well?

Your manager might call you a liar to your face. An attitude is not the way to react at this time since you have not been approached/interrogated/informed of any wrong doing. Do not even talk about the issue to anyone including and especially to the individual you heard about the issue from.
You have an issue where you are not being scheduled for work. Speak to your manager about possible work scheduled for you. If in fact, your manager feel you are not an ideal employee, it will be revealed to you or you will get a work offer. It must be told to you if you have committed a breach in trust or if you have actually taken merchandise. Do not offer any finger pointing information on the loss unless you truly know who did the theft and even then, you may be called on not letting management know of the theft. Loyalty to your employer is always an unspoken agreement and could be used against you if there is an investigation. By law, they have the right to question you on pertinent information, but they would be careful to call you a liar without having proof of your involvement in the theft. I say there is no substance to what you've heard since you have not been approached by management. Be above board in everything you do for your employer so no one can point a finger at you, and stay positive - an attitude would be working to not have a job.

Sounds like they got you whether you did it or not.
Find another job before they actually do anything so that you can leave without it affecting you that much. Cant be worth the trouble they are putting you though. Either that or file a greivance for harassment. If they make your working conditions difficult then you have the right to file a greivance.
I would find another job and quit without notice if able. Screw them before they screw you. more than they have.

If I can wade through the rambling of your question, the answers are:

Yes, they can call you a liar to your face. No law against it.

Yes, they can tell someone else to come in. No law against it.

So just what did you do to have your employer NOT want you at work? Lots of tardies? Lots of unexplained absences? Lots of missed work days with no reason why?

Gotta be more to the story than you're telling.....

No they can't and you should get a lawyer (if can't afford go legal aid law) .They have to have prove!
Just make sure you are telling the truth. Then when they are found wrong SUE FOR SLANDER! To the highest.
Because this could harm or even give you a record and black list you from finding another job.
Clear your name and then sue.
Good Luck
Check yellow pages- lawyers in wrong full dismissal

Why are you getting all upset over something that has not even happened yet? If you have management that follows these types of practices I would recommend you find yourself another place to work.

I would be looking for another job. Guilty or not, they are not working you like you need which shows they don't want you there. It would be nice if they would give you a fair chance to disprove their suspicions. Plan on packing for a trip to greener pastures.

My bosses would be personally offended or think I'm sick if I didn't call them a liar to their face at least once a day; and visa versa...

Yes, they can call you a liar. If they don't believe you, they will think you are a liar.

They don't have to schedule you to work if they don't want.
