I live in a sunny, dry, and arid climate, and I was wondering if there was any specific time of day to get a good tan... anyone know?

The sun's at its peak from 10-3, but tanning during that period is more harmful. Faster tan, but higher danger. Tanning in the later afternoon isn't as effective, but prevents burns better.

I'm in the same type of weather...southern california outter desert and I usually stick to around 3pm...that way the sun is not directly over me. I get less burn. I don't know if there is a scientific pattern to go by but that is what works for me.

babe seriously you dint need to tan. and if you want to have that nice golden brown look..use fake tan. i use it each week and i always get comments on how real it looks. do you want to get older and have dryed up leather skin filled with sun spots and cancer. my mum just got a stage 4 melanoma cut out of her arm and it left a huge ugly dent. tans do look great but they aren't worth the health risks.

Whenever it is partly cloudy the sun will still give you a tan!The cancer chance should be low by tanning while it is partly cloudy!

I have always heard between 10:00 and 2:00. I wouldn't stay out there the whole time or you may get a serious burn.

from 10am-3pm is the time when the sun is the brightest, so you should tan during that time, but don't lay there for a long time.
