I did this with a group of people from the Fok.nl forum! (a Dutch forum). We went to Utrecht carrying those kind of signs, and offered hugs to everyone. Lots of people didn't care for it but we gave & got loads of hugs and happy faces too. It was a fun thing to do. Don't go alone but if you got some friends then by all means round up a few and go for it.

No - i work in Washington, D.C. There are too many aggressive homeless people and weirdos. I don't want to even smell them much less touch them. I would rather selectively respond to other people's "free hug" signs.
