I would like to see what everyone looks like, not these cartoon avatars.

SenoritaFartsALot on the scene answering questions! First sir, you ask "why don't more people use their own photo as an avatar?"
Well, I will tell you the various reasons that may be the cause. First, not all of us are as dashingly handsome as you are. Some of us look more like our names. For example, my name Senorita Farts A lot, may indicate that I am of Hispanic origin and I expel gas frequently. With this in mind, I can admit that I am a little on the tan side with a few more wrinkles than usual- due to the excess anal smoke. (Extensive smoke exposure and inhalation is proven to age the skin at faster speeds than normal.)
Another valid reason people don't use their own photo is, (well not in my case of course) let's just say there are warrants out there for peoples arrest. Some people are on probation and don't want to be exposed, if you will.
Another reason is- let's face it, these cartoon faces are comparable to plastic surgery in most cases. There's no way in hell that most people on this website actually look better than their avatar.
Another reason could be that there are a few people out their who are still in the process of their sex change. With an Adams apple the size of a baseball and the face of Carmen Electra...they'd be sure to lose some points around here!

Yes, I don't like them all too much either. I DID have my picture on here, but Answers seems to be having problems with displaying some people's pictures. I've tried and tried, and even posted a question on it, only to realize that there were countless others on the same topic. Apparently I'm not the only one. I don't know if they'll ever get it fixed, either. One girl told me she hasn't been able to post hers in a year!

People tend to use the internet to be tough and mean because they cant do it in real life. They get on here and bully other users, with their avatars, their identity is still a mystery so they feel safe. If they started putting their pictures up they probably wouldnt feel confident enough to be big bad internet bullies.

Don't know how to upload one, and don't care enough to find out. I'd rather see a cartoon one, than the gray and white generic placeholder for where *something* should be.

oh yea, and i've tried to figure out how to get that stupid 360 to load the pictures to no avail. you tell me a simple way to load a picture of me and will be glad to show you and the rest of the Answers community just how ugly i really am. are you prepared for that?

Some people do not want a Yahoo 360 account (which you have to have to import a picture), some want to keep their ID private.

i use the avatars b/c their cute! and i like a lil privacy, newayz why do u need to see a real pic of me, my avatar luks jus like me!
