Our son is 14 and a good pitcher, his dad does not want him to pitch till later years, he is afraid of injury to his arm. Do you think pitching 4 innings every 4th game could damage him, if he is using correct technique. Never heard of any other father not letting his son pitch?

It is important to make sure that the younger athletes are given every opportunity to reach tehir potential. Sadly for many this does not happen due to injury in the younger years... when you consider that most quality pitchers are at an average age of over 28 there is plenty of time for your son to test his arm out....
Their is no real correct technique as the art of pitching a ball in this manner is not a natural action and as such is putting a strain on either arm, back or waist muscles.
Is he correct? Probably Is it what you want to hear..probably not.....but an injury is not worth the risk if your aspiration is to get your son up the rankings...

sounds like ur taking over ur sons life, sounds like ur husband is living his dream of beeing a baseball star through his children. take a step back sports about fun, let ur son play with his friends and concentrate on important things like school and education.
