Directly opposed, in theory. But not always in practice.
Fascism is a political model advocating conservative, hierarchical totalitarian control, suppressing personal liberties. Don't listen to the spin -- look in a dictionary.
Democracy is the concept of majority rule, which often turns into a form of might-makes-right mob rule. So, in practice, it is possible for fascism to arise from a democracy, if the majority chooses to control and subjugate the minority.
The only protection against this is where the majority is limited in what they can do by some higher power, such as a Constitution. That's why removing constitutional protections are so dangerous -- it's the only thing stopping a majority from doing anything it wants to the minority.

No. Imperialism isn't intrinsically linked to Fascism and genocide isn't unique to Fascism the two (Mao says hi). evaluating chanting u . s . and the Nazi salute is absurd, being patriotic would not make you a fascist. The British Empire colonized and it surely wasn't Fascist. All Fascist states are single-social gathering states and dictatorships, and the u . s . has on no account been the two of those. additionally, there's a ton of political ideologies that hate Communism, only look at what share communities got here jointly interior the White Russian stream to combat the Communists interior the Russian Civil conflict. inner maximum factors and the loose marketplace have been around longer than Fascism has, and nearly all of human beings who help it are not Fascists. additionally your incorrect by employing asserting the US has the worlds greatest status military, China actual has the main important military, and that they effective as heck are not fascists.

Coragryph is right on the money. But as we speak our government is giving control to one person, OUR PRESIDENT. After 9\11 Bush has so much control without ours or Congress's say so. He can now declare a police state if a situation arises and he deems it necessary. This is something that we don't need. No one man should ever have that power. That is why we have check's and balance's. But those are slowly dissapating. We will soon live in a country where we will have no freedom and everything we do will be monitored. In 2008 they want to put a rfid chip in every driver's license. You know what comes after that. There have already been families who have volunteered for the chip under their skin right after 9/11. This is a scary world we are about to enter. We must not take the license if they contain that chip.

Complete opposite's!!! The politics are diametrically opposed. Democracy encouraged self exression, creativity, and communism suppresses it! The democractic republics encourage trade unions, communism bans them. Minority groups have a voice in democracies, they are completely suppressed in communistic societies!!!
