Yes. But you will secretly compare others to your first love for years to come. I hope that you think of your first love fondly. The first love is a time of innocence and personal growth. After being in a true-love relationship, it will help you be a better partner for your next love. You will know what you do/don't want and what behaviors you will/won't accept in a relationship. First love hurts a lot because you haven't felt loss like it before. Life hurts but it's going to be great again. Chin up!

It is hard to say some people do some don't. Honestly its been 2 years since my breakup with mine and im still trying to get over him. My advice to you is just to get out there in the world and enjoy your life someone else will come along eventually and when the right one comes along he;ll blow all the other toads out of the water.

It will be hard if you have strong feelings for that person and you constantly think about them. Your feelings will never go away, however, they will eventually weaken as you grow farther from them. They may pass altogether if you find someone that completely sweeps your feet. The only thing you can do now is feel what you feel.

I wish I could help you, but I'm still trying to get over my first love. She broke my heart, my spirit, and my soul, and left me cold, broken, and alone. Try to keep your head up, and stay focused on your schoolwork, your job or whatever. Just try to keep your mind off that person. You should feel better. Good Luck.

Hard to say, in a way I hope not. I haven't gotten over mine and I pray someday she finds she never has gotten over me. I will be waiting for her until then if it ever comes.
